We are listening to the roaring flow of a nearby seasonal creek in the Santa Monica Mountains, just having to experience record-breaking rainfalls. The rain started over the weekend, and the rainy conditions and their impacts have shut down a part of Topanga Blvd, a main corridor of the canyon. We happened to be away on Sunday evening, visiting my mom in Orange County when the rainfall was the hardest. I stayed up late, worried about our neighborhood and feeling anxious, and remained close in touch with our neighbors, who were holding up their houses in the canyon.
