Just a thought, for the trips, I do not take my 5 year with me. Instead, I write those lines in my phone's notes app and then when I return home I write them into the journal. Not only does it maintain continuity, but I love honoring the practice of noting my daily thoughts/happenings even while on holiday.
That's a great idea, Yvonne!!! I might try to do it next time when we are on the road! (though, I have hard time seeing my lazy self following through lol)
Your dedicated writing practice is fascinating and inspiring. I have journaled a bit here and there, but mostly during difficult and sad times, as a release. So going through the journals can be difficult. But, I don't have a very good memory, and when I find something I have written years ago I'm very intrigued by this version of me. Especially now going through this midlife transition I feel the urge to put down and document all these thoughts and changes in myself. Your thoughts on journaling have given me a gentle nudge to find a moment in my day to do this. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, Steph. I know what you mean about how challenging it can be to look back on some of the pages. My thought is to be very gentle with ourselves. I wasn't ready to read some of the old writings in the past but feelings can change and I am feeling more comfortable to open those pages now. So trust the process and enjoy the journey:) xoxo
