My thoughts went out to you several times today and I am grateful to read you are still safe and sound. Knowing how much nature and the canyon mean to you it must be heartbreaking to witness this devastation.
Holding you all in thoughts and prayers. Thank you and all of the BK community. You all as warm and inviting people have created a beautiful and affirming space for all thought who express themselves through the art of writing. BK has been one of the only spaces I have ever felt safe to explore and express my love of pen and paper and not be judged or feared. I pray for all of your families and the beautiful space you created!
Sending so much love your way and hopes that the destruction can be contained soon. What terror and heartbreak! All of LA, including family and friends are constantly in my mind and heart now.
Oh, I thank you for this update. I live in western NY, but visited the Altadena shop just in October! Last night I heated about devastation in Altadena and of course immediately thought of the haven you have there. My best to you as you navigate this crisis. And I commend you for putting this in the greater context. Your spirit is exceptional—-to be in this, but able to draw the lens out and include your greater community❤️
When I heard about the Eaton fire, my heart sank because I immediately thought about Baum-Kuchen. Its a studio unlike one Ive been in before, and I loved walking around and getting the tactical feel of everything. I was so excited for the analogue meet up on saturday as well. Im glad your family and friends are safe and have a community keeping you grounded. My sincerest sympathy to the studio if anything is lost :(
Thank you so much, Shannon. I believe our collective prayers can be a powerful tool and I am so grateful that you are keeping all of us in your thoughts.
You are so in my thoughts and prayers, sending you so much love and strength too. My son lives in Long Beach and has opened his apartment to friends that have been evacuated that live near BK. They have visited BK too : ) Take care, and thank you for the update.
